Mr. Cherpeski's Core Philosophies
Be honest and demonstrate integrity: This is essential
as public servants. We have been given a trust and should work to
provide our citizens with the most effective, friendly, and efficient
services. Integrity and honesty are essential to providing such services.
We must all remember that the City of Alamosa was formed to provide
services to the community and not the other way around. As public
employees we have a responsibility and a stewardship. We should do
our best to make our actions wholly transparent. We work for a wonderful
organization and should be proud of the part we all play. We should
do nothing that would compromise our fellow employees or the City.
Be respectful and courteous: Treat all fellow employees and citizens in a courteous and respectful manner. Each of us has a job to do, and we need to be respectful and assist as appropriate our fellow employees. We must extend this courtesy to the public. We must do our best to treat others as we would like to be treated.
Be Prepared: As staff, the City Council relies on us providing pertinent, accurate, and timely information for their decision making processes.
Be innovative: Simply because something
has always been done one way, does not mean it is the most efficient.
We should constantly be examining how we provide service and identify
more efficient and effective means to accomplish our work. We must
not settle for the status quo.
